Introduction

Pipeta ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our macOS color picker application.

Data Collection

Pipeta is designed with privacy in mind. The app operates offline-first and stores all your data locally on your device.

Information We Do NOT Collect

  • Your color samples, palettes, tags, or any color data
  • Color harmonies, tint/shade variations, or generated palettes
  • Screenshots, screen content, or eyedropper samples
  • Contrast checker results or accessibility analysis
  • Export data (CSS, Tailwind configs, etc.)
  • Personal information, user accounts, or profiles
  • App usage patterns (unless you opt-in to analytics)

Information We May Collect

  • Pro Purchase Validation: When you purchase Pipeta Pro through the Mac App Store, Apple handles all payment processing. We only validate your purchase through Apple's receipt validation system - no payment details are stored by us.
  • Anonymous Analytics (Optional): If you opt-in, we collect anonymous usage statistics through TelemetryDeck to improve the app (e.g., feature usage, crash reports, performance metrics). This data is anonymized and cannot be traced back to you.

Data Storage

All your color data, palettes, tags, harmonies, and preferences are stored locally on your Mac using standard macOS storage APIs. Your data is private to you and never transmitted to our servers.

iCloud Sync: If enabled in a future update, palette and preference data may sync between your Mac devices through your private iCloud account. This would be handled entirely by Apple's secure iCloud infrastructure - we would have no access to this synced data.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Apple App Store: For app distribution and Pro feature purchases. Apple handles all payment processing and receipt validation. See Apple's privacy policy.
  • TelemetryDeck: For optional anonymous analytics to improve app performance and features. This is opt-in only and fully anonymized. See their privacy policy.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access, modify, or delete any color data, palettes, and preferences stored locally on your device
  • Export your palettes in multiple formats (CSS, Tailwind, JSON, etc.) at any time
  • Opt-out of analytics at any time through the app settings
  • Manage your App Store purchase and download history through your Apple ID
  • Request assistance with your Pro purchase or app-related questions by contacting us
